Training takes place in the all weather pitch in Navan O'Mahonys GAA grounds at lunch time Mondays and Thursdays. All players welcome.

Captain Aisling Martyn lifts the Cup

Gaelic Football is a hugely popular sport at Mercy, with three different teams in competition. Our clubs have experienced a lot of success, most recently our seniors winning the Leinster Championship this year.  We look forward to supporting them in the All Ireland series!
Our Junior team have also had a successful year, qualiying from a tough group which included Loreto Balbriggan, Colaiste Iosagain Stillorgan and Ratoath CS. They also defeated Dominican College Drumcondra before narrowly losing out to a strong Cross and Passion Kilcullen side in the semi final. Well done to all involved.

Celebrations

Our senior football team enjoyed a narrow win over Athlone CC last Friday in the Leinster C football final, which was played in Kinnegad.
It was a tense affair and mercy only took the lead just before half time.
In the second half Mercy played with much more conviction and at the midway mark led by 5 points. Athone fought back however and after scoring a goal tied the game with ten minutes remaining. Mercy showed their composure and resilience in the closing stages to deal with this setback and three points in the closing stages sealed a Leinster title!

New Jerseys thanks to Lidl!

St. Joseph’s Mercy Secondary School were the lucky winners of an amazing kit which was sponsored by our local LIDL.  The shop held a voting competition where customers could choose which school would receive the amazing prize.  We are thankful to all those that voted for us.  The prize is new jerseys, footballs, drink holders, water bottles, training bibs and cones.  It will be used by our football and camogie teams.  Thanks again LIDL!
