Sky Sports Living for Sport Project
On Wednesday 24th February, Aoife Mc Dermott, an international basketball player from Co. Sligo came in to our school to do a workshop with our Sports Council in collaboration with Sky Sports.
For the first part of the day, Aoife told her own life story, of her sporting successes and failures and of how she got to where she is today. We then discussed our project that we as a Sports Council will be taking on for the next 6 weeks, helping to teach young children from St. Joseph’s Mercy Primary school new sports! Aoife helped us to develop our ideas.
For the final part of the day, we played many team bonding games with Aoife, which we found very beneficial, and great fun too! Everyone had a great day and we learned a lot as a Sports Council from listening to Aoife. We look forward to welcoming her back to the school in 6 weeks upon completion of our project.
